This paper uses a neorepublican lens to look at our relationship with surveillance capitalists like Google and Facebook. Exploring three ways of framing this relationship, it argues that these companies have an arbitrary form of control over us and demonstrates how this control impinges on our freedom from domination and erodes our democracy.
