As a philosopher and lawyer, I embrace the hermeneutic pragmatism set forth in my article titled "Making Good Sense: Pragmatism’s Mastery of Meaning, Truth, and Workable Rule of Law." Such hermeneutic pragmatism informs and unifies multiple areas of interest I explore including (without limitation): the inseparability of theory and practice in life and law; the need for moral as well as other workability in acceptable theory and practice; semiotics (including semantics, hermeneutics, and pragmatics) in life and law; conceptual metaphor in life and law; the cognitive nature of emotion in life and law; the role of virtue in legal and other analysis; the interrelation of law and the humanities (including classical rhetoric and parallels between lawyers and poets); and legal education reform.
