It examines the relationship between holistic historical discourse and totalitarian regimes. While doing this, it emphasizes the epistemic difficulty of predicting the future and the impossibility of a general bird's eye view of history. It also discusses the political reflections of this attitude following the tradition of "Open Society and Its Enemies."
