I am a historian (paleographer, Weberian, narrativist) who blundered, first, into literary criticism (philology, semiotics, New Criticism) and then, into philosophy (classics, Vico, Foucault and Deleuze). I still do not understand the authority enjoyed by Aristotle in these three domains of inquiry.
