Heather L. Reid is Professor and Chair of Philosophy at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. A competitive cyclist in her youth, she won a national intercollegiate championship and qualified for the final Olympic trials in 1984 and 1988. As a scholar she has published numerous books and articles in ancient philosophy, philosophy of sport, and Olympic Studies. She has also been invited to lecture on these topics in Beijing, Rome, London, and at the International Olympic Academy in Olympia, Greece.
