Helen Watt

Helen Watt (Ph.D., Edinburgh) is a Senior Research Fellow at the Bios Centre and a Research Fellow of Blackfriars Hall, Oxford. From 2010-2021 she was Senior Research Fellow of the Anscombe Bioethics Centre, having previously served as Director and as Research Fellow of the Centre under its previous name. From 1993-1996 she was Senior Research Associate at Peterhouse, Cambridge. Her publications include The Ethics of Pregnancy, Abortion and Childbirth (Routledge, 2016) and Life and Death in Healthcare Ethics (Routledge, 2000), together with several edited volumes including the conference collections Cooperation, Complicity and Conscience (Linacre Centre, 2005) and Fertility and Gender (Anscombe Bioethics Centre, 2011). Her research interests include reproductive ethics, gender issues, action theory, and cooperation and conscientious objection.
