Ph.D. candidate in Philosophy and an MA student in Psychology at the University of Cincinnati, working on the relationship between language and thought. Instead of presupposing the existence of pre-given categories of thought, my guiding assumption is that these categories are shaped by varying social structures that influence how we think about and engage with the world. In my doctoral work, I examine accounts of linguistic relativity, the hypothesis that language influences thought. In other research, I explore how diagnostic labels alter self-conception.
