I am a retired Professor of English, connected with the English Department of Rutgers University's Newark Campus. I last taught in the Spring semester, 1998. My major field was (and is) the 18th Century, 1660-1800. My publications are mainly about Dr. Bernard Mandeville, but I have also published on Dr. Erasmus Darwin, the Duc de la Rochefoucauld, Aphra Behn and others.
