Ivan Gonzalez-Cabrera

I am a Research Fellow in the Department of Philosophy at the National University of Singapore, working on the project The Ethics and Evolution of Punishment. My research examines how moral justification and evolutionary dynamics shape human punishment and cooperation, integrating philosophical analysis with evolutionary modeling. I completed my Ph.D. under Kim Sterelny at the Australian National University and have held research positions at the University of Tokyo, Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, the Konrad Lorenz Institute for Evolution and Cognition Research, the University of Bern, and the University of Konstanz. My broader work focuses on the evolution of normative cognition and the coevolution of moral and metaethical attitudes.
