My research and teaching interests span moral philosophy, value theory, and environmental philosophy. In recent years, I've focused my research on theories of practical reason, with special attention to the structure of our evaluative attitudes and the perspectival or agent-relative aspects of practical thought. I also have a long-standing research and teaching interest in how philosophy can help us think about, and constructively address, the normative challenges posed by climate change and other environmental issues.
