My general interests are quite varied, but right now my research is primarily concerned with metaphilosophy, particularly differences and similarities in form and content between the Continental and Analytic traditions. I would like to see a synthesis of the two traditions, or at least some level of cooperation beyond the current tolerant stance both traditions take toward each other. Beyond that, I am interested generally in metaphysics, philosophy of mind, and epistemology. I am trained as an Analytic philosopher, but I hold a special place in my heart for the schools of Pragmatism, Existentialism, and Phenomenology. I am also generally interested in Chinese philosophy, particularly Confucian and Daoist philosophy, as well as Indian philosophy, particularly Buddhism.
