Jacopo Giraldo

I am a PhD student in Philosophy at the University of Padua, where I am investigating on the metaphysical possibilities of extended simples and unextended complexes within different perspectives on the concept of spatial extension, as well as on the existence of space and its potential formalizations. My methodology extensively employs the formal tools provided by mereology, theories of location, and differential geometry. Prior to starting the PhD, I earned a Master’s degree in Logic, Philosophy, and History of Science at the University of Florence and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at the University of Padua. Additionally, I participated in exchange programs, spending time as an Erasmus+ student at the University of Oslo and as a visiting research student at the University of Geneva. Along with my doctoral studies, I have been a lecturer for the course "Introduction to Relativity" at the Department of Humanities of the University of Florence since the academic year 2022-2023.
