My formation is in the history of philosophy and ethics.
Earliest work used Gilles Deleuze, Georges Bataille and Nietzsche to explore conceptions of selfhood built on a metaphysics of difference (Deleuze) and excess (Bataille), and capable of isolated experiences.
Subsequent work on Decadent philosophy sought to conceive truth as subordinated to thought within French Nietzscheanism. The value of any philosophical claim is measured only by how vigorously it provokes and accelerates the next round of philosophical thinking.
Later work involved the history of philosophy and ethics and several textbooks.
