James Gledhill

James Gledhill is Lecturer in Social and Political Philosophy at the University of Amsterdam. His research interests lie at the intersection of the traditions of normative political philosophy and critical social theory. They encompass questions about normative justification, the nature and role of social practices and institutions, and democratic constitution-making at national and transnational levels. He has a particular interest in the work of John Rawls and Jürgen Habermas and, in the history of political thought, that of Rousseau, Kant and Hegel.
