I'm currently a fixed-term lecturer at UCL. In 2021-2024, I'll be at the University of Edinburgh doing a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship on 'Kant's Inescapable Ethics of Belief'. My research focuses on two areas:
(i) Normativity in Kant's philosophy of mind. How is mental representation possible? I think Kant has interesting arguments for the claim that normativity is a key ingredient.
(ii) Emotions and moral epistemology. Can emotions provide us with ethical knowledge? I'm working on a set of articles defending a qualified "yes", by spelling out how emotion-based beliefs can be reliable.
