I am Assistant Professor at TU Delft in the Netherlands.
I work on emotions, ethical knowledge, environmental ethics, and history of philosophy. I defend the idea that we can gain ethical knowledge through emotional experiences. Building on this, I'm developing an "emotion-based" methodology for environmental ethics, which (I think) provides a novel way of overcoming longstanding aporias about environmental value. In history of philosophy, my research focuses on Kant, Shaftesbury, and Hutcheson.
Before Delft, I worked at Edinburgh and UCL and studied at Oxford, Cambridge, CEU, and HU Berlin.
