I am a practice-based researcher. Findings from this research have been the subject of exhibitions and papers published for international conferences with a range of focus and themes including anthropology, social sciences, Australian studies, scientific photography, poetics and aesthetics.
My current research employs multiple and overlapping, converging viewpoints to create a contour moire in images of the landscape; rotational imagery of motion perspective in the passing landscape as seen by a moving observer, or of railway passengers and their fleeting relationships; and the deployment of a basic camera to produce a simultaneous overlap of near and far in images of the environment.
I exhibit the findings of this research regularly at venues that have included the AGNSW,Horsham Regional Art Gallery, Bendigo Art Gallery, Castlemaine Visual Arts Biennial, View St Arts Centre Bendigo, Stephen McLaughlan Gallery, Vondelbunker Amsterdam, Centre for Contemporary Photography,Smyrnios Gallery, Prahran, Melbourne, Albury City Art Gallery and the work is held in a number of private and public national and international collections.
I contribute to research in the history of Australian photography, for example through curatorship of Phiction:Lies, Illusion and the Phantasm in Photography which toured eleven galleries across Victoria (December 2001 to October 2003) and a chapter 'Shifting Ground in some Australian Photography' In Mehigan, T.
