I teach philosophy at the University of Victoria. I am mainly interested in philosophy of art though I have also worked in philosophy of language and metaphysics. Within aesthetics I am primarily interested in philosophy of music, moral questions raised by reflection on the arts, art as a source of knowledge, and metaphysical questions about art. I am currently working on a history of philosophy of music and several smaller projects. A translation of Du Bos' Critical Reflections on Poetry and Painting (with Margaret Cameron) is currently forthcoming.
