I am a Professor of Philosophy at Marquette University who writes on Later Medieval and Renaissance Philosophy, Philosophy and Popular Culture, and questions of human nature and social oppression. I have been heavily influenced by the work of Freud, Adorno, Wittgenstein, Stanley Cavell, and Richard Wollheim. I am also an Academic Candidate at the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute and am pursing an M.S. in Psychology at Alverno College. I am the editor of the journal Philosophy & Theology.
