in 2019 I published a book on the evolutionary origins of complex cognitive abilities in modern humans ("Mind Embodied: The Evolutionary Origins of Complex Cognitive Abilities in Modern Humans," available on Amazon, Apple Books, and from the publisher, Peter Lang). I have published on the use and misuse of projective testing in children, the bodily basis of thought; the embodied nature of musical performance; the cognitive value of modern dance and ballet; the role of the brain in spatial-temporal thinking; the political and cultural constraints on human creative behavior; the neural, evolutionary, cognitive, and developmental origins of human creative thought; natural body therapies, is there an aesthetic sense? as well as the nature of human intelligence and the underlying architecture of the human brain that supports it. I also have a deep interest in the uses and abuses of power and have written on the uses and misuses of political propaganda during wartime.
