Educated at L.S.E., taught by Popper, Lakatos, Watkins, Musgrave, Feyerabend & Gellner and attended Oakeshott's seminar. Worked as Popper's assistant. Taught Philosophy at Edinburgh (attended Scottish Philosophy research seminars with George Davie); taught Political Theory at Manchester; Research Associate Professor at George Mason; taught Political Theory then Philosophy at ANU. Books on Hayek and Popper's political thought; co-editor of Harry Acton's Morals of Markets, Popper's After the Open Society. I am currently working on papers on Lakatos, Hayek and Popper, and also on a book, Living with Markets
