I am the NEH/Class of 1940 Distinguished Professor of the Humanities Emerita and Professor of Philosophy Emerita at Colby College, where I was 1991-2023. My two areas of scholarship are ancient Greek philosophy, primarily the work of Plato, and social philosophy, primarily on issues of race and on economic inequality. Still writing.
