João Branquinho took his doctorate at the University of Oxford, where he studied with Tim Williamson. He is presently Full Professor of Philosophy at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon, where he teaches Logic, Metaphysics and Foundations of Cognitive Science. with Teresa Marques, the journal Disputatio. His current work is on the dynamics of indexical belief, the nature of modes of presentation, the relations between rigid designation and content, the scope and nature of metaphysical necessity, and the nature of existence.
