The emergence of generative artificial intelligence has precipitated a fundamental shift in the ontology of fiction. This paper examines the concept of the "post-literate narrative," a term I introduced in my foreword to Zack Pearson’s AI-mediated thriller Secret Agent CEO (2026). By analyzing the structural, phenomenological, and psychological dimen- sions of this text, I argue that the post-literate narrative represents a distinct medium rather than a degradation of the traditional novel. Optimized for mobile-first consumption and algorithmic co-authorship, this narrative mode prioritizes "frictionless throughput" over traditional literary friction. Furthermore, I explore how the absence of conventional edito- rial mediation transforms the text into a raw psychological artifact, revealing the unfiltered cognitive and cultural anxieties of the human prompter. Ultimately, this paper defends the post-literate narrative against traditionalist aesthetic biases, positioning it as a legitimate evolution in media ecology.
