My research focuses on the role of cognitive predispositions in science, religion, and mathematics, and on the cognitive basis of human artistic behavior. The basic question that motivates my research is how evolved, ordinary human cognitive processes give rise to extraordinary products of human creativity, including artistic ability, religious reflection and scientific study.
