    Epistemic democracy and meritocratic leadership

    Elena Ziliotti argues that incorporating Confucian-inspired meritocratic procedures within political parties can improve the quality of political leadership and, through this, the epistemic performance of democracy. This paper considers the contribution of political leaders to epistemic democracy and argues against epistemic democrats embracing forms of meritocratic selection.
