My research interests include: chemistry as practiced in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, the cognitive and brain sciences as practiced today, the scientific realism debate, the semantics of scientific discourse, the role of hypothetical entities in the sciences, the philosophy of scientific practice, and analogical reasoning.
