I am the Nelson Dissertation Fellow (2024-2026) here at Indiana University, working under the supervision of Marcia Baron. My dissertation, "The Criminal Law and the Setting of Standards," is an attempt to give a pluralist and anti-minimalist account of what the criminal law is about; there, I am particularly interested in resisting some common criticisms of criminal negligence and hate crime statutes.
