Group Membership Modulates Fairness Consideration Among Deaf College Students—An Event-Related Potential Study
with Yuqi Gong, Li Yao, Xiaoyi Chen, Qingling Xia, and Xue Du
    Frontiers in Psychology 13. 2022.
Group interaction is an essential way of social interaction and plays an important role in our social development. It has been found that when individuals participate in group interactions, the group identity of the interaction partner affects the mental processing and behavioral decision-making of subjects. However, little is known about how deaf college students, who are labeled distinctly different from normal hearing college students, will react when facing proposers from different groups in…Read more

© The Author 2016.Topological quantum materials represent a new class of matter with both exotic physical phenomena and novel application potentials. Many Heusler compounds, which exhibit rich emergent properties such as unusual magnetism, superconductivity and heavy fermion behaviour, have been predicted to host non-trivial topological electronic structures. The coexistence of topological order and other unusual properties makes Heusler materials ideal platform to search for new topological qua…Read more

Signature of type-II Weyl semimetal phase in MoTe 2
    with Z. K. Liu, Y. Sun, H. F. Yang, C. R. Rajamathi, Y. P. Qi, L. X. Yang, C. Chen, H. Peng, C. C. Hwang, S. Z. Sun, S. K. Mo, I. Vobornik, J. Fujii, S. S. P. Parkin, C. Felser, B. H. Yan, and Y. L. Chen
© The Author 2017.Topological Weyl semimetal, a new state of quantum matter, has sparked enormous research interest recently. Possessing unique Weyl fermions in the bulk and Fermi arcs on the surface, TWSs offer a rare platform for realizing many exotic physical phenomena. TWSs can be classified into type-I that respect Lorentz symmetry and type-II that do not. Here, we directly visualize the electronic structure of MoTe 2, a recently proposed type-II TWS. Using angle-resolved photoemission spec…Read more

Distinct Electronic Structure for the Extreme Magnetoresistance in YSb
    with J. He, C. Zhang, N. J. Ghimire, T. Liang, C. Jia, S. Tang, S. Chen, Y. He, S. K. Mo, C. C. Hwang, M. Hashimoto, D. H. Lu, B. Moritz, T. P. Devereaux, Y. L. Chen, J. F. Mitchell, and Z. X. Shen
© 2016 American Physical Society. An extreme magnetoresistance has recently been observed in several nonmagnetic semimetals. Increasing experimental and theoretical evidence indicates that the XMR can be driven by either topological protection or electron-hole compensation. Here, by investigating the electronic structure of a XMR material, YSb, we present spectroscopic evidence for a special case which lacks topological protection and perfect electron-hole compensation. Further investigations rev…Read more

We previously analyzed human prostate tissue containing stroma near to tumor and from cancer-negative tissues of volunteers. Over 100 candidate gene expression differences were identified and used to develop a classifier that could detect nearby tumor with an accuracy of 97% based on 364 independent test cases from primarily European American cases. These stromabased gene signatures have the potential to identify cancer patients among those with negative biopsies. In this study, we used prostate…Read more

Optimization of Multidimensional Clinical Information System for Schizophrenia
with Yu Jiang and Hang Yu
    Complexity 2021 1-10. 2021.
Schizophrenia is a serious mental disease whose pathogenesis has not been fully elucidated. Its clinical evaluation and diagnosis still highly depend on the clinical experience of doctors. It is of great scientific value and clinical significance to study the inducing factors and neuropathological mechanism of schizophrenia. Based on the four research problems of schizophrenia, this paper analyzes the data types that need to be stored in clinical trials and scientific research, including basic i…Read more

The Tactile-Visual Conflict Processing and Its Modulation by Tactile-Induced Emotional States: An Event-Related Potential Study
with Chengyao Guo, Nicolas Dupuis-Roy, Miaomiao Xu, and Xiao Xiao
    Frontiers in Psychology 12. 2021.
This experiment used event-related potentials to study the tactile-visual information conflict processing in a tactile-visual pairing task and its modulation by tactile-induced emotional states. Eighteen participants were asked to indicate whether the tactile sensation on their body matched or did not match the expected tactile sensation associated with the object depicted in an image. The type of tactile-visual stimuli and the valence of tactile-induced emotional states were manipulated followi…Read more
