I currently serve as Assistant Professor (Contract) at the Institute of Philosophy, National Sun Yat-sen University. I am also an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Social Imaginaries and co-editor of the book series Imaginaries and Imagination (SUNY Press).
I received my Ph.D. in Philosophy from Boston College, and my B.A. and M.Phil. in Philosophy from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Previously, I taught at Gonzaga University. As part of my dissertation research, I also spent a year at the Husserl Archives in Cologne, Germany, with support from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

My research lies at the intersection of Continental philosophy and social and political philosophy, and I am currently developing two projects along with related articles. The first project articulates a phenomenological approach to social experience, examining the interrelation between social subjectivity and its socio-cultural world. The second investigates the formation of cultural identity through extreme social contexts in which one's sense of identity breaks down, including cultural extinction, diaspora, and colonization. Alongside these, I am writing articles on the problem of political violence, exploring both its constructive and destructive dimensions.
