A tese da transparência e o representacionismo perceptivo
    Analytica.
Abstract: In this paper, I intend to review the way in which percep…Read more

The problem of the naturalist fallacy for evolutionary ethics
    with Thomas Hasek
Kriterion: Journal of Philosophy 2. 2006.
One of the most difficult problems for those who defend evolutionary ethics is the naturalist fallacy. In this article, we examine the solutions proposed by W. Rottschaefer and R. Richards. We believe that these solutions are not good enough to completely eliminate the problem of the naturalist fallacy without compromising the specificity of morality.
A perspectiva evolucionista pode, a nosso ver…Read more

According to Lyotard we can no more support our universal values in any philosophical system. Plurality is the greatest sign of our time and we should think of justice based on it and not against it. It doesn't mean reducing the justice question to opinion games or power relations, but it means conceive it based on an Idea, whose universality and finality are exactly the Idea of coexistence of difference and it would have a regulatory function over the diversity of opinions. The Idea of pluralit…Read more

Intentionalism and the Problem of the Object of Perception
    Trans/Form/Ação 39 (2): 87-100. 2016.
ABSTRACT: In this paper, I intend to review the intentionalist account of perceptual experience in order to deal with some difficulties that it faces in adequately specifying the nature and object of perceptual experience. My aim is to show that it is possible for the intentionalists to incorporate the disjunctivist thesis that the object of perception is part of perceptual experiences, without renouncing the common factor principle. I argue that, in order to do this, it is necessary to engage w…Read more

Intentionalism and the Problem of the Content of Perception
    Revista Portuguesa de Filosofia 72 (2-3): 519-530. 2016.
In this paper I will discuss the intentionalist view of perception, and present some arguments to support the view that, contrary to Michael Martin’s criticism, intentionalists do not need to conceive the content of perception as either singular or general, because this is not the way that it should be thought. The right way to conceive the representational content of perception is by considering it as informational and functional.
