Dr. Karla Pinhel is Full Professor of Philosophy and Political Science at University Centre of Curitiba (UNICURITIBA) in LL.M. and J.D. Program. She is Post-doctorate from Federal University of Santa Catarina and UNICURITIBA, she holds a Ph.D. from the University of São Paulo (USP), a Master in Philosophy from the University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and is graduated in Law from State University of Londrina (UEL).
She is Chair of the UNICURITIBA Research Group on United Nations Peacekeeping Operations, Chair of the UNICURITIBA Research Group on Inter-American System of Human Rights and Coach of the Team UNICURITIBA for INTER-AMERICAN HUMAN RIGHTS MOOT COURT COMPETITION at Washington College of Law, American University, USA and Coach of Team UNICURITIBA at ICC Moot Court Competition, Leiden University, The Hague, during the last 10 (ten) years.
Her projects were selected at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Beijing University, Seoul National University (SNU), Moscow Lomosonov State University and University of Athens. She has national and international publications in the areas of United Nations, International Human Rights, Ethics, Politics and Philosophy of Law.
She worked in various segments of government, nongovernmental and international organizations.
She is former United Nations consultant and selected among better 40 young professionals in the area of social affairs in Brazil, by United Nations Young Professionals Programme.
She was visiting PhD researcher at Akademie der Künste, Walter Benjamin Archiv, Berlin, Germany.
She has capacity building on United Nations Women Peace and Security conducted by Hochschule für Polizei Baden-Württemberg, Center for International Peace Operations (ZIF) in Germany and Diplomacy, Peace and Security at United Nations Institute of Training and Research (UNITAR) in Switzerland.
She is former Coordinator of Working Group Women Peace and Security at Brazilian Network Research for Peace Operations (REBRAPAZ) and also a founder and permanent member of its Consultative Council.
She is Invited Professor at Military Police Academy of Paraná State at Master and Doctoral courses, Superior School of Prosecution and at Federal School of Magistracy of Parana State.
She is a lawyer member of Brazilian Bar since 2008. Academic Director and Coordinator of the Chair of Philosophy of Law at the Silvio Meira Institute (ISM)
