He was born in Volos, Greece, in 1969. He studied History and Archaeology in the School of Philosophy at the University of Ioannina. With a scholarship from the Greek State Scholarship’s Foundation in the field of Byzantine and Neohellenic Philosophy, he followed postgraduate studies at the Theological School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He received a master’s degree in the field of Systematic Theology, with honors in 1996. For 25 years he is an associate of the Research Centre for Greek Philosophy of the Academy of Athens, especially of its first director, student of B. Tatakis, the legendary scholar Linos Benakis, who was supervisor-advisor of I.K.Y. His research interests include Neo-Platonism, Byzantine Philosophy, Theology, Philosophy of History, History of Scientific Ideas, Anthropology, Historiography, Comparative Literature, etc. He has authored six books and more than 80 publications in peer-reviewed international scientific journals and other publications. He has taken part in six philosophy conferences - in the two with original scientific papers - and he has given five speeches. In 2010, an extensive encyclopedic study of his on Byzantine Philosophy translated and published into Polish and it was taught at the Adam Mickiewicz University, in March 2011. Some of his studies are used in the courses in the universities in Greece and abroad. There are known citations to his published work at least in ten languages.
