Currently, my research focuses on the agency of marginal agents. I am specifically interested in the unique deliberative standpoint of marginal agents and the ways in which this standpoint affects their ability to act autonomously and authentically. I characterize this standpoint as constituted by W.E.B. Du Bois’s notion of double consciousness. I argue that we must understand this uniquely constituted standpoint in order to fully grasp the agency of marginal agents, especially those living under oppressive circumstances.
In addition to my research, I have taught at UC Riverside as an Associate Instructor and a Teaching Assistant for various courses since 2019.
