Kelli Barr

Postdoc working with the Sociology of the Purpose Project, a sociological and philosophical study of a large-scale, international, interdisciplinary project in evolutionary biology. Former postdoc at Pittsburgh HPS with the Geography of Philosophy Project, an international, interdisciplinary study of variations in philosophical conceptions of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom across cultures and languages. My research more generally jumps between philosophy of science and technology, science & technology policy, social epistemology, and metaphilosophy (particularly in my dissertation work). My interests in the philosophy of interdisciplinarity, environmental philosophy, and the broader societal impacts of research stem from my combination of training as a marine scientist (B.S.) and philosopher (M.A. & PhD).
