Key MacFarlane is a PhD Candidate in the History of Consciousness at the University of California, Santa Cruz. His research focuses on the relationship between subjectivity and politics, bridging the fields of phenomenology, critical theory, and philosophy of mind. His dissertation considers the relevance of Marxist phenomenology for renewing questions of self-consciousness, collective intentionality, and everyday life in a time of global crisis. He has also published articles on the production and politics of space.
