I am currently Assistant Professor of Philosophy in the Department of Languages and Philosophy at Southern Utah University.

I focus on Descartes, but have a broader interest in the history and philosophy of science and the scientific revolution. My current research focuses on the centrality of modality to the Cartesian system, which then involves issues of divine simplicity, causation, and freedom of the will. I am also particularly interested in the problem of evil in terms of both historical and contemporary responses.

I have other projects in metaphilosophy, the philosophy of mind, and pre-college philosophy.
