My dissertation argues that F.H. Bradley can be understood as basing his metaphysics upon phenomenological insights though Bradley himself never uses the word. I argue that this reading of Bradley allows a better understanding of both his metaphysics and his epistemology than traditional interpretations of his work. Further, I contend that this reading of Bradley provides crucial insights into the relationship between phenomenology and metaphysics that is relevant to contemporary phenomenological research. By placing Bradley's philosophy in conversation with the central figures of phenomenology, my dissertation aims to contribute to both Bradley scholarship and contemporary continental philosophy.
