I grew up in Toronto, near York University, where I received my B.A. in Philosophy. I then attended Yale University's interdisciplinary Philosophy and Religion program where I received my M.A.. With developing interests in German Philosophy, I moved to Boston University where I studied Kant under Henry Allison and received my Ph.D. in 1997. In the following year, I began as an Assistant Professor at OSU. I was tenured in 2004, and have since been promoted to Full Professor.
