What is the usefulness of philosophy in work and everyday life? While Philosophers insist that the skills, orientation, and mode of life of Philosophy has inherent value and utility, most others in society tend to disagree -- that is, if they consider this question at all. Part of the reason for the gap between what the experts say, and what the general consensus seems to be, is that Philosophers tend not to focus on, or develop skillfulness in, translating philosophical value into concrete results and clear outcomes, beyond those achieved in professional academia.
