Lilian O'Brien

I received my PhD from Brown University. I have taught at Vassar College, The College of William and Mary, University College Cork, and the University of Helsinki. I was a core fellow at the Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies from 2021 until 2024. I am now a Senior Research Fellow at Tampere University and a University Researcher at the University of Helsinki. Together with Arto Laitinen I am Co-PI of a project on commitment funded by the Research Council of Finland: Commitment and Self-Evaluation, Individual and Collective (2024-2028). I am P.I. for a research project on inquiry at the University of Helsinki (2024-2029), The Many Faces of Inquiry: Towards a Dynamic and Pluralistic Epistemology, funded by the Kone Foundation, Finland.
