Luciano De Fiore was born in Rome in 1955. He studied Philosophy (Sapienza University of Rome and at Friedrich-Alexander University, Erlangen- Nürnberg). He wrote about Leibniz, Hegel, Kojève, Marx, Rorty, Elster, and Sloterdijk. His current research interests deal mainly with the relationship between philosophy, psychoanalysis and arts (Pier Paolo Pasolini, Philip Roth, Joseph Conrad), with particular regard to the subject of desire and human passions.
