Ludovic Soutif

Ludovic Soutif is an associate professor of philosophy at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, a former president of the Brazilian Society for Analytic Philosophy (2021-2), and a CNPq research productivity grantee. He is Agrégé (Université Paris X-Nanterre, 1994), Master (Université Paris 1-Panthéon Sorbonne, 1997), and Doctor in philosophy (Université Paris 1-Panthéon Sorbonne, 2005). He spent a year as a visiting fellow at Harvard University (GSAS, 2000-1) on Fulbright and Arthur Sachs scholarships and another year as a resident at the Maison Française d'Oxford (2001-2) on a Lavoisier scholarship. He was a visiting researcher at the Wittgenstein Archives of the University of Bergen (2002, 2003, 2004) on an ARI Grant from the European Union, a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of São Paulo on a FAPESP scholarship (2008-2010), and a visiting research fellow at the Center for Logic, Epistemology, and the History of Science (CLE-UNICAMP, 2021-2) on a CNPq senior post-doctoral scholarship. His areas of interest include the philosophy of language and mind, epistemology, and the history of analytic philosophy, with a special emphasis on singular reference, expressive meaning, de re thoughts, cognitive dynamics, indexicality, intentionality, spatial perception.
