Lukas is currently about to finish his Ph.D. studies in philosophy at the University of South Bohemia in the Czech Republic. His professional background is in philosophy (BA, MA, PhD) and religious studies (BA). Lukas is currently about to finish his Ph.D. studies in philosophy at the University of South Bohemia in the Czech Republic. His professional background is in philosophy (BA, MA, PhD) and religious studies (BA). As a philosopher, he is interested in the fields/areas of ethics (good life), philosophical anthropology, philosophy of mind, metaphysics, phenomenology, ancient (Greek) philosophy as well as in interdisciplinary research. His current academic research focuses on the philosophy of sport, play, and games, particularly on the question of how sport contributes to living a good life. Lukas is also interested in the concept of philosophical practice. He works as a mental coach and a philosophical practitioner (consultant) in the sport area. He is one of the founding members of the Institute of Philosophical Practice (Institut živé filosofie) in the Czech Republic. Lukas is a former hockey player – he spent most of his career playing for his hometown club in České Budějovice, but also went abroad and spent one year playing junior hockey in the US.
