Christoph Lumer is a philosopher. After having been professor of Philosophy at the University of Osnabrück (Germany) and having held visiting positions in Urbino (Italy) and Ann Arbor (USA), since 2002 he is Professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Siena (Italy).

His main research fields are:

ethics (normative ethics, metaethics, some applied ethics, in particular environmental, future, economic and developmental ethics),
action theory, moral psychology,
theory of prudential rationality (including utility / desirability theory, theory of rational decision, theory of the good life),
