The article presents the biography, scientific achievements, main research interests, and academic legacy of Bohdan Dziemidok—a philosopher and aesthetician long associated with Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. The section dedicated to his scientific achievements discusses the most important books authored by Bohdan Dziemidok. Subsequently, the section on research interests outlines the main problems and questions that the Professor addressed. Emphasis is placed on aesthetic and axiological issues, together with the idea of the “art of living” that Bohdan Dziemidok promoted and practiced. This article also reconstructs the aesthetic and ethical views of the author of “Philosophy and the Art of Life”, highlighting their innovativeness, originality, and significance. The final part is devoted to the Professor's academic legacy, namely his students and followers.

The aesthetic, according to Wolfgang Welsch, has several semantic variants. One of them is a phenomenalistic one. Referring to this variant, I show that the aesthetic is something more than a secondary component of electronic capital markets, which reflects what is happening to them and supports economic actors in their investment decisions. Namely, it is something that reaches out to such important things as the very existence and functioning of financial markets, their moral and social legitimization, the mode of participation of economic actors on these markets, their experiences and behavior and the popularity of investing in the markets. Thus, it can be said that the aesthetic is an integral and constitutive element of capital markets and not just their supplement, which only represents these markets and supports financial subjects in their investment behavior.

W niniejszym artykule próbuję odpowiedzieć na pytanie: „Czego brakuje sztuce współczesnej?”. Swoją odpowiedź umieszczam w kontekście rozważań D. Kuspita i J. Baudrillarda. Autorzy ci w dość dosadny sposób opisują sztukę współczesną, wskazując na wiele negatywnych zjawisk, które się w niej uwidoczniają. Ich uwagę przykuwa przede wszystkim zerwanie przez sztukę więzi z estetyką, skutkujące kresem sztuki i samej estetyki. Różnią się jednak zasadniczo co do oceny zjawiska rozejścia się sztuki i estetyki. Kwestii tej różnicy poświęcam zakończenie artykułu
