Marcos Antonio Alves

He holds a degree in Philosophy from UCPel (1995), a master's degree in Philosophy from UNESP (1999), and a PhD in Philosophy from CLE/UNICAMP (2012). He is a professor in the Philosophy Department and the postgraduate program in Philosophy at Unesp. Winner of the 1st Marcelo Dascal Prize in Cognitive Science and Philosophy of Mind, he has experience in Philosophy, with an emphasis on Epistemology, Philosophy of Mind and Information, working primarily on the study of the relationships between information, cognition, emotions, and Fake News. He is the leader of the Study Group on Philosophy of Information, Mind, and Epistemology (GEFIME) (CNPq/UNESP) and a full member of the International Society for Research on Emotions (ISRE). President of the Brazilian Society of Cognitive Science - SBCC (2013-2015), Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Philosophy at Unesp (2020/2021, with approval of the Doctoral Course and increase in the program's CAPES score), Coordinator of the GT/ANPOF Philosophy of Mind and Information (2025/2026). Editor of Trans/form/ação: philosophy journal of Unesp (Qualis A1) since 2020. Ad hoc reviewer CAPES, CNPq and FAPESP. CNPq/Pq-c researcher.
