Retired as head of department of General Education and Training (GET) programmes on the Mowbray campus of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) after 10 years teaching in schools, and 18 years lecturing in a College of Education and university faculty. Am involved in inservice teacher professional development and writing, with a particular focus on literacy, especially in a rural setting in South Africa.
