Las promesas situadas en la universidad han claudicado y han quedado encadenadas –como Prometeo– al trastocarse sus pretensiones. En este escrito se busca atisbar situaciones propicias para la universidad, apreciando sus condicionantes por el neoliberalismo y el mercado, sus retos generalizados tanto de afuera como de dentro, y sus problemáticas para construir un mundo común en un capitalismo globalizado. Así, se pretende visibilizar las amenazas que se ciernen sobre la universidad contemporánea que nos obligan a adentrarnos en lo que ella habría de ser, buscando su incondicionalidad y labor crítica, pues de otra forma, estamos frente a una universidad, que ya no existe, pero la imaginamos, y estamos atrapados en una fábula.

En 2021, treinta años después del feminicidio de su hermana, Cristina Rivera Garza publica El invencible verano de Liliana, en el que reconstruye los retazos de una vida cercenada por la violencia patriarcal. El análisis se detiene en examinar cómo al mismo tiempo que rastrea el archivo oficial, la escritora comienza a hurgar en el archivo íntimo, y es este recorrido entre lo público y lo privado el anclaje vertebral de la materialidad de una escritura a medio camino, o en la frontera, entre la ficción y la no ficción. Se demuestra cómo elige formas disruptivas de hacer justicia y fijar memoria sobre el feminicidio de su hermana y, en este gesto, establece alianzas y visibiliza las luchas y los aportes teóricos del feminismo durante las últimas décadas. Se destaca su vida y legado, enfatizando su influencia y dulzura que conquistaron corazones durante su vida y continúan haciéndolo tras su muerte. San Francisco es presentado como un modelo de santidad y amor divino, que enseñó que todos están llamados a vivir una vida espiritual intensa, independientemente de su situación. Su vida estuvo marcada por la humildad y la entrega, y su muerte fue un testimonio de su amor por Dios y su pueblo. El texto también menciona a santa Juana Francisca de Chantal, cofundadora de la Orden, quien vivió una vida de servicio y obediencia.

The current planetary context reveals an urgency to create a philosophy committed to our world. In this context, and building upon Latin-American intellectual history, this chapter develops a proposition that is both theoretical and practical: the aesthetics of care. This proposition is built upon the imaginary dimension of our lives and, therefore, of the crises, particularly those raised by the Anthropocene epoch. This proposition involves practicing the situated thought in different registers, which will be developed throughout the text. In summary, it involves sentipensar the crisis, that is, not only thinking about it but feeling it at the same time, treating both acts with equal importance. The chapter is organized into two parts. On the one hand, a decolonial reading on the ethics of care is presented, articulated in three axes: the human condition understood as vulnerable, the dynamics of attention and inattentiveness typical of the modern world-system, and the contextualization of decision-making. On the other hand, the proposition of an aesthetics of care is described along two axes: firstly, the understanding of aesthetics from a decolonial perspective, and finally, the development of my own practice of the aesthetics of care through theater.

Este estudio es una propuesta de implantación de un modelo de enseñanza por competencias en la Universidad, aprovechando la experiencia de la integración desde hace unos años, de una nueva asignatura transversal en los cursos de piloto llamada KSA (Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes o lo que es lo mismo, conocimientos, habilidades y actitudes), impuesta por la Agencia Europea de Seguridad Aérea (EASA) para todas las Escuelas de Aviación de los Estados miembros, lo que obligó al cambio de los planes de estudio y objetivos de aprendizaje del curso de piloto, en especial del grado universitario.

Our goal in this paper is to articulate a precise concept of at least a certain kind of disease-mongering, showing how pharmaceutical marketing can commercially exploit certain diseases when their best definition is given through the success of a treatment in a clinical trial. We distinguish two types of disease-mongering according to the way they exploit the definition of the trial population for marketing purposes. We argue that behind these two forms of disease-mongering there are two well-known problems in the statistical methodology of clinical trials (the reference class problem and the distinction between statistical and clinical significance). This research focuses on the analysis of the family and its relationship with academic performance. In this sense, it seeks to examine how the family plays a fundamental role in the development of a student's life, impacting their education. socio-emotional and school. Therefore, the central objective is to know how the family influences the education of high school students between two types of high school: general and technical. It should be noted that this research is comparative and differential, where we worked with an instrument made up of 100 variables of the study phenomenon and 5 signalytic variables with a sample of 50 subjects from general high school and 50 students from technical high school. To respond to the explanations of the study phenomenon, parametric statistics were used through the levels of frequencies and percentages, characterization, correlation, comparison and integration. Among the main contributions, it is highlighted that anxiety tends to arise from the lack of parental attention to their children, with the family being an important factor in the education and development of high school students.

By definition the conference series Taboo - Transgression - Transcendence in Art & Science includes theoretical presentations and artists’ talks focusing (a) on questions about the nature of the forbidden and about the aesthetics of liminality, as expressed in art that uses or is inspired by technology and science, and (b) on the opening of spaces for creative transformation in the merging of science and art. The organization of Taboo - Transgression - Transcendence in Art & Science 2018 in Mexico City, the third conference of the TTT series, embodies the trust and support that constitutes its community. After three years working in the organization of TTT in Corfu the possibility to see it happening across the Greek borders and, above all, on the other side of the Atlantic was overwhelming. I am personally grateful to María Antonia González Valerio, Marta de Menezes, Ana Ventura Miranda and Andreas Giannakoulopoulos for gracefully challenging the concept of a conference’s digital organization in real-time space and for kindly bringing in their immense experience and ability to connect beyond limits. I am also thankful to all TTT2018 participants who have generously shared their experiences, offering, through their presentations, excellence and respect for the concept of interdisciplinarity and collaboration, independently of each other’s status. Finally, my appreciation for the discrete and inestimable sustaining role of my fellow members on the Steering Committee of the TTT conference series: Roy Ascott, Andreas Floros, Gunalan Nadarajan, Melentie Pandilovski, Stelarc, Polona Tratnik and Adam Zaretsky. Este artículo presenta dos objetivos principales, ambos relacionados con los planteamientos de la corriente transhumanista. El primero consiste en realizar una aproximación al aspecto tecnológico del transhumanismo, en concreto a su estado actual en cuanto a los avances en el ámbito de la ingeniería cibernética. Tras una introducción al concepto de transhumanismo, se expondrán algunos proyectos actuales que buscan desde la reparación de daños hasta el mejoramiento humano. Como ejemplo de la implementación de la tecnología con el objetivo de amplificar los sentidos, se presenta el concepto de cíborg. El segundo objetivo se centrará en presentar las cuestiones de carácter bioético que los avances en ingeniería cibernética plantean y que irán surgiendo a lo largo del artículo con el fin de ver cómo estos avances realmente pueden ponerse al servicio de la naturaleza humana y de su desarrollo integral.

La práctica de la pronunciación en el aula es esencial para el desarrollo de las destrezas orales. Este estudio pretende explorar la práctica, la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de la pronunciación en la enseñanza de inglés como lengua extranjera en España. Se recogió una muestra de estudiantes (n = 494) y otra de profesores (n = 127) de la etapa preuniversitaria (EP = Educación Secundaria Obligatoria y no Educación Secundaria Obligatoria) y de la etapa universitaria (UN) en España. Sus respuestas se analizaron según cuatro dimensiones: (i) contenidos y sus dificultades; (ii) tipo de actividades; (iii) práctica de destrezas orales; y (iv) percepciones. Los principales resultados revelan que i) el ritmo era el aspecto menos practicado en el aula de EFL en ambas etapas; ii) los alumnos de ambas etapas consideraban que nunca practicaban con canciones, mientras que los profesores indicaron que era una de las actividades más frecuentes; iii) la práctica de destrezas orales obtuvo una puntuación más alta en los profesores y alumnos de UN que en el grupo de profesores y alumnos de PU; iv) el tiempo de clase dedicado a la fonética y la pronunciación fue considerado insuficiente por los dos grupos de profesores, pero sólo por parte de los alumnos de UN. Basándose en publicaciones relevantes y los resultados obtenidos, los autores también aportan ideas y recomendaciones sobre la fonética y la pronunciación del inglés para los profesores de inglés como lengua extranjera.

Public perception, fueled not only by popular and news media but also by expert claims that psychopaths are archetypes of evil: incorrigible, remorseless, cold-blooded criminals, whose crimes manifest in the most extreme levels of violence. But is there empirical evidence that psychopaths truly are what they are portrayed to be? If so, should the law respond, and adjust its treatment of psychopaths in court — permitting psychopathy to be admitted under an insanity defense and/or resulting in mitigation? In this paper, we demonstrate that fundamental questions from the law to science remain unanswered and must be addressed before any alternative treatment of psychopathy can be considered. As it stands, psychopaths cannot be reliably defined or diagnosed and, as we will demonstrate, even the presumed link with criminal dangerousness is problematic. We conclude that the current legal approach should not be modified, however, if preliminary findings regarding impairments in impulsivity/self-control are confirmed, some, but not all individuals who fall under one definition of psychopathy may merit different treatment in future.

El mito de Ifigenia ha sido reinterpretado con extraordinaria vitalidad en multitud de obras literarias y artísticas a lo largo de la historia. Este artículo pretende examinar la particular repercusión de Ifigenia en el debate de la _Querelle des femmes_ a partir de la recuperación del manuscrito de la tragedia de Eurípides a finales del s. XV, en autores como Galeazzo Flavio Capra, Ludovico Dolce o Lilio Gregorio Giraldi. La recepción de la tragedia griega desde Italia, al verterse en dramas y tratados, irradió en la cultura moderna europea nuevos emblemas sobre la condición femenina, hacia un modelo de virtud cuya moral supera la crueldad de los dioses y los hombres, pues lucha por su propia libertad y dignidad.

El presente estudio analiza cuándo y cómo audiodescribe la ONCE el lenguaje de la cámara en The Favourite (Yorgos Lanthimos, 2018) para identificar excesos y defectos por redundancia sonora que puedan comprometer la comprensión del mensaje y la experiencia artística en ciegos. Con este fin se han analizado los códigos visuales, el contexto de la producción, el sonido y las estrategias semánticas y lingüísticas utilizadas en su descripción. Los resultados demuestran que el texto ignora aspectos formales relacionados con la transcripción de la realidad, la composición y el movimiento que afectan a la interpretación y percepción estética del filme.

El objetivo del trabajo es precisar el valor mediático de la revolución zapatista de las comunidades indígenas de Chiapas en el proceso de conquista de su autonomía política asentada sobre las bases de una democracia asamblearia contrapuesta a la democracia formal y representativa del Estado mexicano. De ahí que el título del trabajo responda a la construcción mediática de la democracia del zapatismo. Apartados del trabajo son: a) la descripción de los caracteres de la citada revolución insistiendo en su valor mediático, b) la explicación de los espacios mediáticos que cubre la revolución, c) las causas y los factores que explican el éxito mediático de la revolución, d) la función mediática que desarrolla el subcomandante Marcos, portavoz y jefe militar de de la revolución, y e) la estrategia de la indef inición política del zapatismo, con la finalidad de allegar a sus filas al mayor número de propagadores y colaboradores en el éxito de los objetivos revolucionarios.

En los últimos años y por diversos motivos los filósofos han exhibido un creciente interés por la reflexión metafilosófica (una amplia bibliografía así lo manifiesta). Una de las cuestiones metafilosóficas que ha suscitado especial dedicación y ha atraído la atención de filósofos de distintas filiaciones es la cuestión acerca del canon filosófico. ¿En qué consiste? ¿Cómo debe ser concebido? ¿Cómo se constituye? ¿Cómo funciona? ¿Dónde está? ¿Qué relación guarda con la historia de la filosofía y con la historia de las ideas en general? ¿Cuáles son sus vínculos con la institucionalización y profesionalización de la filosofía y con la comunidad filosófica? son algunas de las preguntas planteadas.En nuestro medio y en general en la comunidad filosófica hispano parlante, la aparición de la obra póstuma de Eduardo Rabossi En el comienzo Dios creó el canon. Biblia berolinensis en la que su autor aborda con originalidad y agudeza esta temática, ha resultado ser un estimulante disparador para el examen y discusión de la cuestión que nos ocupa. Rabossi declaró que se daba por satisfecho si lograba incentivar la polémica. Creemos que lo ha logrado ampliamente. Este número de Análisis Filosófico es una prueba de ello; en él recogemos parte de la reflexión que ha provocado el desafío lanzado por Rabossi.

The essay enquires into an in-depth analysis of the impact of the ongoing debates on animality, shedding light on how it is currently perceived. In essence, the essay argues that the animal category can only be understood by considering the circumstances of its coming into being. This essay comprehensively examines animality and considers its intricate intersection with ontology, territory, ethology, anthropology, and subjectivity.

This chapter is the third episode of a three-part essay that explores the concept of the animal as an ontological question. It delves into the intricate connection between urbanisation and the natural world, focusing on the relationship between animals and their habitats. The text explains that all living things have a place as part of their ontological determination. For animals, this place is their territory. In cities, natural habitat is often confined to parks or gardens due to urban development. There is a strong relationship of affectation and conformation between bodies and cities. Ultimately, the city is seen as a circumstance that has seized much of nature’s territory, leaving animals to resist and seek refuge in the city’s crevices. According to the chapter, returning to nature cannot be accomplished simply through a weekend trip or romanticising the idea of wild nature. Instead, it requires a negotiation between urban and natural environments. It also explores the relationship between humanity and animality and suggests that incorporating storytelling and understanding other life forms can lead to different ontological questions. The chapter calls for much thought to coexist within shared, negotiated territories. Ultimately, it frames the relationship between humanity and animality as an ontological and political issue.

This chapter is the second episode of a three-part essay that explores the concept of the animal as an ontological question. The chapter discusses the question of animality and its place in the current map of reality and contemporary discourses. The idea is to view animals beyond the narrow categories of “human” and “animal”. This is not just a biological issue but also touches on modes of becoming animal, appearing animal, differing animal, and opposing animal. Animals are a significant part of our culture and are subject to ethical, moral, and political discussions. It is worth considering philosophically where the ethical, moral, and political demands stem from. The question about ourselves was once central, and philosophical anthropology occupied a fair amount of reflection. However, with posthumanism and transhumanism, the question of what we are is no longer the centrepiece of the larger question of being. The idea of being human has lost its universal and unified meaning. Instead, it has become defined by history, gender, culture, ethnicity, tradition, religion, language, and even hypothetical possibilities of evolving into different species. The chapter concludes that if ontology has anything left to say about the human and the animal, it is no longer in terms of the caesura or the ontological difference but about the circumstances in which animality appears.

In this chapter, we explore the concept of the human condition in the philosophy of technique. In this analysis, we examine the perspectives of José Ortega y Gasset and Martin Heidegger regarding the significance of technique in understanding the human condition. Additionally, we consider the contemporary city and language as ontological devices that play a role in discussing techniques. We also discuss art as an ontological device that can help us understand the impact of techniques and technologies on the world, including climate change. The chapter concludes that art produces the sensible world and that, in doing so, it addresses the ontological issue of technique and its impact on spaces and subjectivities.

This chapter explores the connection between art, science, and biotechnology from a philosophical standpoint. We draw on concepts and theories from the history of philosophy and aesthetics to interpret art that uses bio-media and focuses on the subject of life. This type of art presents new challenges for thought, which philosophy must address to understand the implications of this aesthetic manifestation fully. Additionally, we consider how a mode of production that subverts living beyond techno-science impacts ontology. We aim to contribute to the ongoing debate about art and bio-media by examining how reality is shaped by various mediations and temporalities rather than focusing solely on changes in representation or means.
