I am Professor of Philosophy at the University of Alberta. My area of specialization is 20th-century continental philosophy, especially existentialism, phenomenology and deconstruction. I received my PhD from the University of Freiburg in 2005 with a dissertation on community in Jacques Derrida's and Jean-Luc Nancy's works. In 2012, I published an introduction to Jean-Luc Nancy for Polity's Key Contemporary Thinkers series. I am also the former editor-in-chief of Symposium: Canadian Journal of Continental Philosophy.
